Why 100 Days of Happiness?

One of Matthew Mathison's school teachers shared her struggle with infertility.  She and her husband had tried unsuccessfully for years to conceive a child. She was about to undergo her last in vitro  attempt. Via email, she humbly asked families of her students to please pray for her - to pray to their own personal God in her behalf that she and her husband would be blessed with a child. Her prayers were answered - as were the prayers of many parents and students who love her. A miracle of faith! 

She moved to Chicago and to keep in touch and express gratitude she is posting her 100 Days of Happiness on Instagram.

 I love the idea - a perfect project for me to seek happy moments, recognize blessings and express gratitude for a wonderful life!

The Lion of the Lord

Happy Day 5

I have always loved the Lion House - Brigham Young's home on beautiful South Temple. He has been called "The American Moses" and "The Lion of The Lord" - an amazing modern-day prophet. Our wedding breakfast was in the Gable Room and we greeted guests at our wedding reception in the drawing rooms.  Our children have enjoyed birthday parties at this grand location. Many times I have indulged and ventured over for a solo lunch after a temple session. 

I love Salt Lake City and it has been a joy to share it with the Mathisons this past month. They love lunching cafeteria style as did Baby James and the Menloves.

Matt made his Nana's authentic Italian Spaghetti and Meatballs - a labor of love!

Our a Sunday dinner was so delicious and we enjoyed an evening of relaxation and fun with the Mathisons, Brintons, Hardys, Grandma and Grandpa Boren , Corinne Reichman and Grant King 

Back in the Saddle

Happy Day 3

I am so proud of my real rodeo cowboy. He has been on hiatus for a few years but is now back in the saddle on his new horse, Rey's Reflection. He is a calm and cool competitor - always a winner!

Mary and I love sitting in chairs to watch the sun rise and wait for Holly to come running around the corner.
