Chocolate Dipping

Happy Day 82

Melissa, Anne and I had a fun evening attending a chocolate making class at Candace Frioux's lovely home. Allison Jacobsen demonstrated the art of making and hand-dipping chocolates. Delicious and heavenly!

We enjoyed dipping and chatting with friends Wendy Carrigan and Shawn Morgan.

A NEW HEART & Pumpkins

Happy Day 79

A new temple presidency greeted us today.  Cecil Samuelsen and his wife Sharon are our new President and Matron of the Salt Lake Temple.  I look forward to learning from them.  Today in our prayer meeting Sister Gardner shared the story of Saul being chosen by the Lord to be King over Israel.
Samuel anointed him to be captain over the Lord's inheritance - Israel.  Even though Saul was a Benjamanite, the least of the Tribes of Israel, he was:

"a choice young man, and goodly; and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he:  from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people."  1 Samuel 9:2

"Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee... and thou shalt be turned into another man...(and) God gave him another heart."  1 Samuel 10:1, 6,9

This is what the Lord can do for us - he can turn us "into another man" and he can "give us another heart".  I'm grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ which enables us to become a new people with new hearts; we can be changed.

Fun day making pumpkins!

Church and Dinner

Happy Day 78

I was asked to introduce Dave before he spoke in Priesthood.

It is my pleasure to introduce today's speaker, my husband David Dillier Burbidge. He is not an ordinary guy but a very unique and interesting character. Wherever we travel, he is mistaken for Nick Nolte and happily obliges when asked for an autograph. He is a man of many talents-- track star, proud garbage man, beekeeper, cowboy and rodeo champion, savvy business owner, missionary, golfer and golf ball hunter, boat captain, jokester - one of a kind- a winner!

Perhaps his best qualities are that of loyal friend, faithful son, devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, and Son of God who faithfully serves Him and honors his priesthood. I'm grateful he loves The Lord with all his heart as well as his fellow men.

David Dillier Burbidge - a man for all seasons - faithful in storms and in Sunshine. I am so very grateful for him.

We enjoyed a delicious pot roast dinner at the Lindsley's. A very happy day.

Happy Halloween

Happy Day 77

Mary Poppins - aka Caroline Hardy

Bubba Watson aka Henry Hardy

I loved the Halloween Parade - déjà vu.

Bulbs

Happy Day 76

Melissa offered to help plant my bulbs. I was grateful for her help - we planted over one thousand. She did most of the work with a little help from me and James while Baby Samuel played nearby. Melissa is a worker bee and shares my love  for gardens and gardening. She generously offered to help me plant bulbs each fall until I die - such a sweet offer.

Planting  bulbs is an act of faith - faith that Spring will come and bless us with such beauty.

"For The Lord shall comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
her desert like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness shall be found therein,
thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
